[Dinner is served late in the mess hall because it's a grand banquet in honor of the Magistrate of Kibo. It's a pretty modest celebration, all things considered: the people at Kibo are invited, along with her family, any Searing Wind members who feel like dropping in from wherever they've been as of late, and a few friends among the other Keepers of the Vigil. That's about it.

Still, Kalika looks like she's having fun. Her husband and her children are, of course, all in attendance, together with her husband's familiars and the entire division of the Strays from Seigi. The food, mind you, is excellent, and there is more than enough booze.

You're welcome to come and go as you please. Kalika's easy like that.]

Okay, so that's you, Dee, me and Cen. If we get Tala on-board that guarantees Eli. [ A knowing look your way. ] If we get Eli, we can get him to grab David. And I can talk to Kalika about Anton.

[ Pursing her lips a little as she thinks. ] Aura and Cora might be easy to swing, I can put in a call tomorrow. They just might need time to make sure that the School of Colors is in good hands and... Barbie is just a drive away?

[ The real problem, let's face facts, is Kaizen. And she's giving you a Look, capital 'L', because she has an idea for that, but she wants your thoughts first. ]

And that just leaves Kaizen.

[Yeah. She has the same Look on her face. The rest really are easy, especially when you wrangle them together. Nostalgia and concern tends to kick in at that point.

Kaizen doesn't feel much of either of that.]

[ She hadn't asked because this one doesn't need reasons beyond seeing the lot of you again. But Kaizen's a whole other creature -- and she means that in the fondest way. ]

Arcis expedition. All of us helping out there the entire day, then buckling down for a picnic.

[ Arcis in itself is a Big Deal -- putting together a proposal that Kaizen wouldn't be able to logic his way out of was another thing entirely.
