Waking the Dead 2.0 || August 9, 2063 || Tuesday

[Dinner is served late in the mess hall because it's a grand banquet in honor of the Magistrate of Kibo. It's a pretty modest celebration, all things considered: the people at Kibo are invited, along with her family, any Searing Wind members who feel like dropping in from wherever they've been as of late, and a few friends among the other Keepers of the Vigil. That's about it.
Still, Kalika looks like she's having fun. Her husband and her children are, of course, all in attendance, together with her husband's familiars and the entire division of the Strays from Seigi. The food, mind you, is excellent, and there is more than enough booze.
You're welcome to come and go as you please. Kalika's easy like that.]
OOC Notes:
+ Will have some threads for NPCs of note, but just to give you a general idea: many members of the three blades are in attendance, along with pretty much anyone whom Kalika views as family. If you want to request for somebody, lemme know!
+ Debby and Noey: feel free to put your NPCs in here. =w=
+ Feel free to start your own threads too. Just specify if it's open to all, or if you're going to thread something out with a particular PC.

[And he hugs her as well, if only to say that 'I'm still here, and I will be for a lot longer.' He lets go after a beat, letting the beat wash over him, a surge of affection for the elder Riskbreaker filling him.]
I promise not to do it again.

[ She's smiling though. She's just glad you're dealing with it well. Besides, your aunt isn't here to lecture you. ]
Just wanted to say sorry, I should have looked out for you.

Aunt D, lemme tell you what I told the rest of the Hounds: It wasn't your fault, please don't think that it was. I'm a Hunter, death is an occupational hazard.
[He's making light of it, but there's a seriousness to his expression now.]
There're too many what ifs surrounding that engagement, but the fact is that I did die, and I went down fighting. It just so happens that I'm too stubborn to just die.

[ It's just that she's worried. Not the first time someone got hurt because she was not able to reach them on time. ]
Anyway, how are you? You never got back to me about how your talk with Nico ended up.

I'm doing okay, all things considered. There's a lot to learn, and Jessie's got me hitting the books all over again.

I heard. We've got a lot of things to catch up on.
[ Handing you a beer. Kaz would know that this is Aunt D mannerisms for getting people to start talking. Only if they want to, of course. ]

[Kaz takes a swig off of the beer before lighting up. He's also thinking maybe the beginning is a good start.]
Well, do we start at my Netsach initiation, 'cause I'm pretty sure everybody got to watch that.

Go ahead. I'm yours for as long as you'd like.
[ Because aside from Kalika, she only showed up for you, Kaz. ]

[And he tells you all about that crazy mess. Taning getting screamed at by a coffin, and how your knives totally helped out.]
