[Dinner is served late in the mess hall because it's a grand banquet in honor of the Magistrate of Kibo. It's a pretty modest celebration, all things considered: the people at Kibo are invited, along with her family, any Searing Wind members who feel like dropping in from wherever they've been as of late, and a few friends among the other Keepers of the Vigil. That's about it.

Still, Kalika looks like she's having fun. Her husband and her children are, of course, all in attendance, together with her husband's familiars and the entire division of the Strays from Seigi. The food, mind you, is excellent, and there is more than enough booze.

You're welcome to come and go as you please. Kalika's easy like that.]

Well, one of the many. [ She says that with a small laugh. Gideon is one of the people that reminds her of how she was before - and how far she's gone since then. So yeah, she is very thankful. ]

So what's it been like for you, being Hikaru's newest daughter?

[ She pauses for a bit with an amused smile. ]

Not what I thought it'd be like, but I'm not really complaining.

For starters, fun.

I mean, it is still fun, but that's before I found out what really happens inside hunting conspiracies. There's a lot of tragedy.

Oh, I think the Vigil has as much beauty and tragedy as any place. It all depends on what you choose to focus on.

Well, you've been here a while, sir. How'd you handle it all?

[Laughs, looking rueful.]

I can't say that I handled things as well as I could have. It's a constant balancing act. Still... taking breaks and being with friends and family tend to help plenty.

[ Brianna gives Gideon an empathetic look. ]

Thankfully, that's exactly what I'm doing now, and will be for a good part of the month.

Excellent. And that reminds me... how is Roy?

[He knows, of course, about the fact that your family adopted him.]

[ The thought of Roy makes her smile. ]

He's getting a long very well with my other siblings and I'd like to think he's happy with us!

[Nodding, looking pleased.]

I've not doubt he is. Your parents are good people, and you're not so bad yourself for a kid.

[ This is true, she's been trying not to use her powers for irrelevant things like gossiping, being in places where she shouldn't be... o_o ]

Lots of possibilities, really. I ask other higher-ups what they think because they know other conspiracies better than I do.

That's a good choice, actually. The Methuselah's changed for the better since 2012.

[ There's a short glint in her eyes - containing quite a bit of spite. However, it's not towards the present Methuselah. ]

They should have, by now. [ She says that with a lot of cheer though. Quite optimistic. ]

Wiseman Tagabigay has never been much of a talker unless it's about work.

As for those guns... I am sure you realize how much they mean to him, yes?

[ She nods solemnly. ]

Funny how it landed in my hands because of... that.

[He chooses not to answer immediately. It might be because he's gone back to fixing his things before the next set.]
